I just have to say, let's go out there and stamp our mark in history! See ya!

Evolution FC vs FC Anonymous!

Date: 6 July (sun)
Time: 5-7pm
Venue: Telok Kurau sec sch (near Eunos station)

Alright guys, our next opponent is anonymous. Let this be a trial match and try to get to know them well, find their weakness or even exploit them, as we will be meeting them in the knockout round. So it is as good as having a two-legged affair but only the 2nd leg counts. Haha. Ok. They have been building their credentials well but we shall not fear them in any case. Lets work on our passes and keep the passing flowing and control the game. We need to have the mentality of not being afraid to pass even if we tend to mispass. No worries whatsoever. It is ultimately a team game and would come out good in the end in the long run. Nevermind the shortrun repurcussions. We only need a few individual players but not all the time. Let us be mindful of these and try our best on the pitch to play enjoyable soccer. Enjoyable soccer will also mean keeping possession and moving the ball around making sure every single one on the field touch the ball by hope or by crook. ^^

Let's meet at eunos mrt at 3.30pm.

Blessed,
Joe
Ok! At the back of our defeat, we should not dwell too much on it. Get it over and move on. Let's keep our banners high and sing no matter win or lose. That's the spirit we all want to see! I'm sure you lads do too. A good team does not get undone by defeats but gets stronger. On hindsight, we were that close to beating them... another day perhaps.

Evolution FC vs FC 2024 !

Date: 15 June (sun)
Time: 4-7pm (Phototaking slot included) - All players are to reach Pasir Ris Crest sec at 3.30pm!
Venue: Pasir Ris Crest Sec

Hey peeps,it's the most anticipated match of the season and expect much fanfare to be going on. It is going to be a crunch tie and let us all go out there and enjoy ourselves as we give our 110% in it. Let's really play soccer as the beautiful game imply and not be too caught up with circumstances or aims. Take and keep possession and create opportunity passes and the rest will come naturally. Do not panic if we lose the ball and start to crumble in defence... a big no no! Stay calm and reaffirm your position and we will ultimately get the ball back as a team or individual. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and keep composure even if we are behind or in front as it is of utmost essential on us to set the platflorm to determine success and for it to thrive to the finish. Sportmanship behaviour is encouraged at all times! Whatever the outcome(positive or negative),it is not over or the end. We all know.

Do come in full proper attire plus shin guard as there will definitely be phototaking this time round. We will all go straight to the school itself and all players are to reach by 3.30pm. Reason being we can come early and accommodate our fans too for there will be a fairly large support coming. You can take buses from Tampines or Pasir ris interchange. It's very easy to reach. Just look at the bus directory. Take good care of yourself and keep in fitness. We will see each other come sunday. Have a great week ahead.

Sweet victory! Evolution FC 5- 0 Indo District United

Bravo, bravo, bravo! It was an absorbing, richly deserving and thoroughly savouring victory for Evolution FC today! Fans, players, reserves, absentees, new friends alike, all have played a part in how much we have achieved and come thus far. Today started off with a pretty cautious mindset and approach for the whole team, respecting the recognition of the hardworking indo team. But as the game wore on with the coming and taking of our opportunities that beckons,we were on the slaughter and did not let slip the chances with 3 goals in rolling succession, with an added bit of fortune for 1 or 2 of it. We started to gain confidence and momentum from there and thus seeing us through the win. Credit to everyone who played in a more organised fashion and control today especially in midfield as well as having more command in defence. As such,we managed a good feat of a clean sheet against a fairly expecting opposition team! Excellent and well done guys!

Three cheers for our keepers who improved lots and Bowen who saved a penalty giving us our 2nd consecutive clean sheet and the hardworking departing kenneth for his national service. You have been a great defender and player for us. We all recognised that and we will go as far as we can so that you might even get another chance to feature for us again in the august finals.

Overall, each and every individual played their part with identity and character! Let's keep this achievement going and improve from time to time. Though tougher matches are to come, this victory will provide a good platform for us to steer the 2024 tide next and we will not lose without giving a good fight. Victory isn't that far from us too. It might even be smiling on us. Just 1 more win would ensure us getting into the knockout round. We will play for 'identity' upon securing top four in the coming month for our remaining league matches and see how far we can go. God help us.

Post match review

Hi fellow mates and friends,

First of all, give yourself a pat on the back if you have played. We have given our best and all which takes courage plus enthusiasium to even want to play and bearing all circumstances. I salute you guys! Let's also keep in mind that none of us are handpick to be the finest to form the best team we can get but we are all volunteering to come together to work towards the best and enjoy soccer in it's essence with friends around. As we also know that forming a decent team nowadays(especially when one gets older) is hard enough even for professionals outside being busy Singaporeans. Therefore, let's appreciate what we have and given us.

Overall, it was a good effort by everyone and we saw some positives. Defeat only helps learning and is a way to improving. Most importantly, we gain the experience which is most valuable and perhaps a simulation which we can relate as a resemblence of what FC 2024 or even Anonymous FC might be. That aside, We could see that our keeper 'Bowen' has improved tremendously and putting up good saves and a bravery performance. He could very well be our MOTM preventing us from further conceding. Keep it up bro! Praise to those scorers and defenders as well who have worked hard as usual especially guys like kenneth(consistent), Alex, Benson, Lennon, HongDao and all.

There are however a few heated exchange moments and our dear lennon wants to apologise to the team for his outburst and conduct. All we want to say is that we understand and do not blame you for it isn't entire your fault too. The other team also have some part to play. I'm sure everyone in the team would have already forgiven and embraced you. You've done your part with your experience, knowledge and fine football. You've contributed lots and we appreciate you!

Finally, this defeat wouldn't come as an element of surprise, shocked or whatsoever. Neither does it have any bearing nor needed any much comprehension. There may even be more matches such as this in the future... who knows. Certainly we know where we stand and we will all move on with that gained experience and prepare for our next and subsequent matches as a unit(good or bad, skilful or not) much more confident.

Evolution FC vs Pikachu united!

Date: 6 april (sun)
Venue: Bendemeer Sec sch
Time: 5-7pm

Lets all meet at boon keng mrt at 3pm. Again the fees is $80. So i say lets all bring $6 each estimating abt 15++ players coming. I collected $5 each the last few matches and it is always not enough,so its better to give more than less.
The extra will be kept as team fund by me and to be equally returned at the end of the season.

On another note, an email from the admin was sent out to all captains saying that we are the first and earliest team to give the hpl fund to the administrators! Credit to everyone for giving more so that i hav enough to give to the admin. Small things such as this will speak a lot on the character and efficiency of the team.
A pat on the back to all! :)

Rest well and keep in fitness for sun. Never underestimate your opponents no matter how weak or strong they are.
See ya.

Joe

BEWARE OF TEAM IMPOSSIBLE ONSLAUGHT !

Evolution got the possible replacement for Annonymous FC this sunday, But the question is whether Evolution can mantain their 100% match win record. Manager WJ is aware of the damage Impossible can create especially after their last match against mighty FC 2024 in which they lost only by a goal margin. But confidence is high in the Evolution camp , and especially with colin back from flu, and more team players will be making their way for this coming match. Looking at their opponent track record :

Week: 1 Date: 24.02.2008 FC Anonymous 4 v 2 Team:Impossible
Week: 2 Date: 27.01.2008 Team:Impossible 4 v 2 Pikachu United
Week: 4 Date: 17.02.2008 Team:Impossible 2 v 3 FC 2024

and currently standing at 6th position on the table, we will defintely give them the full respect when we face them this weekend. Coach lennon is aware that in order to challenge FC2024 , them team must beef up their defence and not concede goals ! Currently Evolution is top of the table with a better goal scoring differences than FC 2024. ' i will say that our goals scored per match is fantastic but we need to tighten the backline' , says Coach Lennon in a press conference.
And he single out Calvin Ting of Team Impossible as the man to mark after impressive contribution to the team. Captain Of Evolution Joe agreed and says : ' Stop him and we can win the match.' lastly, will Evolution come up as victors or losers this weekend ? the ESPN tipster predicts a comfortable win for Evolution with a 4-2 score line.

REAL CRASH OUT BY CLASSY ROMANS !

( Rodrigo Taddei of AS Roma celebrates his goal with Juan )
Real Madrid's Champions League hopes were extinguished on Wednesday night as Roma completed a classic smash-and-grab raid at the Bernabeu to move into the quarter-finals. Bernd Schuster's side, 2-1 down from the first leg, battled hard but were unable to overcome a Roma side who played for the final 20 minutes with a numerical advantage following the dismissal of defender Pepe

POOR WEST HAM ENDURES HUMILIATION FROM TORRES..

Fernando Torres swept Liverpool back into the top four of the Barclays Premier League, on a night when the Kop made it clear they wanted the club's American ownership swept out of Anfield. EVOLUTION PLAYERS NOT INTERESTED IN OWN BLOG ?

It seems that after the launch of the team blog on sunday, Players of Evolution FC did not leave any updates on blog or traces at tagbox. Is it that they are not interested in the blog or finding ways to improve on the blog ? when we interview the coach ealier, he expressed his intention that the team need to show more passion towards the game on and off the pitch. Now Only time will tell if this works out for the team and the coach..

Soccernet Report : Superb Evolution Fightback !

Tag 3 Evo 6

Evolution climbed to the top of the table for the first time since the league started with a 6-3 win over title contenders Tag United.

Evolution came from behind twice in the first half with a strike from top scorer Timothy and a well-taken penalty from Alex to even out Tag’s advantage.

Another well-taken penalty by Hong Tao took Evolution into the lead before Lennon finished Tag off with 2 well-taken opportunistic goals.

The game was well over at 5-2 when Tag scored with a looping header past Evo keeper Clarence, before Timothy added the icing on the cake with a final penalty before the final whistle to complete a famous win over their more we=established opponents.

With the players ecstatic having come from behind to win, player-manager WJ said, “The lads showed great character and steel to come from behind, not once but twice, to win this. Our opponents this time were much more experienced but we expected to hit them hard from the first whistle, but to our surprise we found ourselves trailing within a few minutes. The lads played with little self-belief at that time but an inspired performance from substitute Hong Tao, ensured that we rebuilt the game slowly from the back.”

Indeed Evolution could have little to cheer about when they conceded 2 soft goals to Tag, within minutes of each other.

“Our defence is definitely a problem. We would have to work on that in the coming weeks but we are confident we will make it through. Our lads are maturing with each passing game and we can only get better”.

“When our self-belief returned after the second goal was conceded, our lads kept getting at them until we got what we needed – goals. From then on, there was never a doubt that we would be chasing the game once more. Once again our top scorer (Timothy) provided us with the breakthrough goal and won an important penalty for us.”

When asked if his players fell too easily, WJ insisted, “No, we were too fast for them. With such quick-footed players like we have, we were bound to win a few penalties like these.”

“Benson, Lennon, Alex, Joe, Chong Jyn and Timothy all did well to get into good scoring positions when their offside trap failed and they had no choice but to haul our players down.”

“In fact, several of their players should have been sent off, being the last man in front of the keeper. One of their players even stamped and fell on one of ours (Chong Jyn)”, WJ added, fuming.

“Nevertheless the ref did well to get some decisions spot-on and overall I have no complaints.”

When asked about a suggested handball by Zhuneng in the box midway through the second half,

“I’m not sure. I didn’t see the incident clearly. Perhaps in the replay we would. Then again, the ref is the boss.” WJ mused. “I think certain favour and good fortune from a higher Power that be is sometimes necessary.”

“Some said that Lennon’s goals took a fortunate bounce but goals are goals and Lennon showed himself opportunistic enough to take them well. Last match he scored with a thunderous shot from outside the box but this time he showed that he could conjure up goals from nowhere.”

“In fact if our strikers took their chances better, we could have won by 4-5 clear goals.”, WJ countered.

This writer agrees and nice inter-play by the strikers and attacking midfielders ensured that Tag could not find a way back into the match. An inspired debut by Jonathan at leftback position ensured that the way to goal was shut out on Tag. Ke Han, playing out of position in central defensive midfield, also did well. Kenneth, playing in his usual central defence position, was a rock once again.

“Yes, I think all the players played their hearts out. We showed that we were not easy pushovers against bigger opponents and it is good to sit at the top of the league for a while.”

“It is still early but of course we hope to take this all the way to the end. Our opponents are strong and I suspect this will go down to the wire at the end of the season.”

WJ refused to comment on the chances of the other teams such as FC2024 and Indo District, saying that Evolution FC should focus on themselves at this point.

“Our fate is in our own hands. What others do will not matter so long as we are winning. Of course it is nice to hear that the other teams are not unbeatable, but at the end of the day we need to get our problems right.”

Evolution FC next plays Anonymous in March.
