EVOLUTION PLAYERS NOT INTERESTED IN OWN BLOG ?

It seems that after the launch of the team blog on sunday, Players of Evolution FC did not leave any updates on blog or traces at tagbox. Is it that they are not interested in the blog or finding ways to improve on the blog ? when we interview the coach ealier, he expressed his intention that the team need to show more passion towards the game on and off the pitch. Now Only time will tell if this works out for the team and the coach..

Tag 3 Evo 6

Evolution climbed to the top of the table for the first time since the league started with a 6-3 win over title contenders Tag United.

Evolution came from behind twice in the first half with a strike from top scorer Timothy and a well-taken penalty from Alex to even out Tag’s advantage.

Another well-taken penalty by Hong Tao took Evolution into the lead before Lennon finished Tag off with 2 well-taken opportunistic goals.

The game was well over at 5-2 when Tag scored with a looping header past Evo keeper Clarence, before Timothy added the icing on the cake with a final penalty before the final whistle to complete a famous win over their more we=established opponents.

With the players ecstatic having come from behind to win, player-manager WJ said, “The lads showed great character and steel to come from behind, not once but twice, to win this. Our opponents this time were much more experienced but we expected to hit them hard from the first whistle, but to our surprise we found ourselves trailing within a few minutes. The lads played with little self-belief at that time but an inspired performance from substitute Hong Tao, ensured that we rebuilt the game slowly from the back.”

Indeed Evolution could have little to cheer about when they conceded 2 soft goals to Tag, within minutes of each other.

“Our defence is definitely a problem. We would have to work on that in the coming weeks but we are confident we will make it through. Our lads are maturing with each passing game and we can only get better”.

“When our self-belief returned after the second goal was conceded, our lads kept getting at them until we got what we needed – goals. From then on, there was never a doubt that we would be chasing the game once more. Once again our top scorer (Timothy) provided us with the breakthrough goal and won an important penalty for us.”

When asked if his players fell too easily, WJ insisted, “No, we were too fast for them. With such quick-footed players like we have, we were bound to win a few penalties like these.”

“Benson, Lennon, Alex, Joe, Chong Jyn and Timothy all did well to get into good scoring positions when their offside trap failed and they had no choice but to haul our players down.”

“In fact, several of their players should have been sent off, being the last man in front of the keeper. One of their players even stamped and fell on one of ours (Chong Jyn)”, WJ added, fuming.

“Nevertheless the ref did well to get some decisions spot-on and overall I have no complaints.”

When asked about a suggested handball by Zhuneng in the box midway through the second half,

“I’m not sure. I didn’t see the incident clearly. Perhaps in the replay we would. Then again, the ref is the boss.” WJ mused. “I think certain favour and good fortune from a higher Power that be is sometimes necessary.”

“Some said that Lennon’s goals took a fortunate bounce but goals are goals and Lennon showed himself opportunistic enough to take them well. Last match he scored with a thunderous shot from outside the box but this time he showed that he could conjure up goals from nowhere.”

“In fact if our strikers took their chances better, we could have won by 4-5 clear goals.”, WJ countered.

This writer agrees and nice inter-play by the strikers and attacking midfielders ensured that Tag could not find a way back into the match. An inspired debut by Jonathan at leftback position ensured that the way to goal was shut out on Tag. Ke Han, playing out of position in central defensive midfield, also did well. Kenneth, playing in his usual central defence position, was a rock once again.

“Yes, I think all the players played their hearts out. We showed that we were not easy pushovers against bigger opponents and it is good to sit at the top of the league for a while.”

“It is still early but of course we hope to take this all the way to the end. Our opponents are strong and I suspect this will go down to the wire at the end of the season.”

WJ refused to comment on the chances of the other teams such as FC2024 and Indo District, saying that Evolution FC should focus on themselves at this point.

“Our fate is in our own hands. What others do will not matter so long as we are winning. Of course it is nice to hear that the other teams are not unbeatable, but at the end of the day we need to get our problems right.”

Evolution FC next plays Anonymous in March.
